At 7 a.m. two 911 callers reported a car hit a tree and caught fire on Shotwell Park, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center. Shotwell Park is a street that runs from James Street south to Sunnycrest Park.
A firefighter arriving on scene confirmed that the car was on fire and that someone may be inside. Another responder confirmed there was a person in the car, according to dispatches.
Afterwards, a gray SUV could be seen on Shotwell Park, against a tree. The front hood is peeled off and the car appears charred. Debris is on the ground around the car.
